GHOST TRACK PARK WILL CHARGE A $5.00 ENTRY FEE FOR GUESTS OF OUR GAMES, IF IF IF IF there is a softball tournament scheduled that Same Saturday. NO ENTRY FEE if NO Tournament. CONCESSIONS WILL BE OPEN DURING SOFTBALL TOURNAMENTS.
The Managers'Meeting determined some Rule Changes for 60+ Teams. Any subsequent changes will be by vote of the 60+ Managers. Nothing changes at the Plate. These changes are:
1. 5 Runs per inning to swap field. Run Rule Eliminated.
2. No Throw to 1st Base when ball hits grass in Right Center & Right Field. Ok from Center or Left Field.
3. Only a "Force Play" at home plate. Ball only needs to beat Runner home with Cather Foot on Plate. Runner beats the ball, he is safe. No tag necessary. Runner goes more than halfway toward home, He must continue to home Plate. Umpires Judgement prevails. Running turns around to go back to 3rd after passing halfway, he is declared out. Again Umpire s Judgment Prevails.
4. No stealing 2nd base. The only way a Runner can advance from 1st Base is a base hit, a walk, or a Pick Off Attempt by Pitcher OR Cather, and an Overthrow Occurs. Runner must re-tag 1st Base before advancing to 2nd Base. The other Rule is that the ADVANCE will be only one base. NO ADVANCE to 2nd Base on a Pass ball or Wild Pitch. Umpires will immediately call a DELAYED DEAD BALL and reposition runners.
5. Stealing 3rd base and home ok. Also, advance to 3rd or Home on a wild pitch or pass ball, outside the circle of home plate.
6. Shared position may be used with any position in the lineup. There can be unlimited SHARES for ALL lineup positions. EACH team will be Allowed TWO NON-RUNNERS, designated on Lineup Card prior to Game. A & B batting positions are also an Option. Designate on offense line up PRIOR to Game!
7. You can Have a Courtesy Runner for Pitcher or Catcher (if not using Shared position for each). Runner is last out made (unless N/R designee).
NO METAL CLEATS ALLOWED ON FIELD AT CENTRAL CATHOLIC BASEBALL FIELD. NO SEEDS, NO GUM.
A NEW SITE WILL BE GTP AT 2902 Shane Road, at the Intersection of Shane Road and Villamain on the South East side of the City. GTP stands for GHOST TRACK PARK!!
We should be back at NSLL in early June.

An Update: 64 years, & 3 months old is one JJ Bailey who is the oldest League Player to hit an In-the-Park home run. Now everyone knows.
So far Jerry Spencer remains the oldest member to hit a home run. In order for his head not swell, need someone older to de-throne him.
A little known fact for SAMSBL is the "older" players are monitored for a rare accomplishment.
And that is hitting home runs, rare, very rare. But miracles do happen every once and a while.
Some history: the first "old" guy to hit a home run was Pete Powell at Sanchez-Spencer when he was 57. The 2nd was Tom Keyser at Blanco at 58. The 3rd was Nelson Wolff at Texas State when he was 64.
And now, at 66 years and TWO months, is the current record holder, Jerry Spencer at Blanco 2 weeks ago.
He is thinking his ball rolled a total distance of nearly 500 feet from Home plate. That record is 617 feet.
